Full Sensory Experience at Park Winters

Sometimes we miss out on activating all of our senses to achieve relaxation or simply find an escape from day-to-day stress. Many of us opt to enjoy a glass of wine or a delicious meal, but then all we are left with is a full belly and maybe even a hangover.

What if you could trigger all of your senses in one experience?

With a visit to Park Winters you can do just that. After your day in the country you will return home feeling invigorated and inspired. The best part? You can continue to come back to do it again and it’ll be a completely different experience each time.

How can you experience this full sensory getaway? Book yourself a Garden & Farm Tour and then a Farm to Table Experience at Park Winters. If you want to make it last longer than just a half or a full day, you can choose to stay overnight at our charming Bed & Breakfast which allows for more time to explore and experience the wonder and magic of our private estate.

The drive to Park Winters will begin your experience as you wind down nearly-empty roads through the gorgeous Yolo Countryside. With more space and less cars, you will immediately start to relax as you pass farm fields, orchards and even barn animals like cows, horses, chicken and goats! The moment you arrive to our estate you are welcomed with the scenes and scents of the surrounding farmland with a backdrop of unobstructed views of the Blue Ridge Mountain Range.

SMELL THE NATURAL SOURCES OF AROMATHERAPY

What does the countryside smell like? Depending on when you visit, the smells of the landscape can be very moving. The fragrance of wild flowers, the smell of the air before rain, and sometimes you can even sense hints of vanilla in the air. On your Garden Tour, you will walk through the estate’s lovingly manicured gardens that features aromatic herbs and many varieties of flowers. Our sunken garden is filled with different lavender species which are clipped during the tour for you to smell up close and take home with you to remind you of your visit. Have you ever seen or smelled fresh nutmeg geranium? This is your chance to smell the natural sources of essential oils and teas right from the ground!

FEEL FLOWERS AND PLANTS AND CONNECT WITH NATURE

There’s no better way to connect with nature than to actually touch it. Feel the silky roses, discover the the fluffy leaves of a Lamb’s Ear plant and you may even pick and eat a fig from our Fig Forest when it’s in season. You’ll also learn how we source our seeds from our very own flowers by breaking up dried flowers to release the seeds that are stored within them.

TASTE THE FRESH FLAVORS FROM OUR OWN AND LOCAL ORGANIC FARMS

Each tour is always different especially when the seasons change. Sometimes the tour guide will even walk guests to our farm to see what’s growing! Don’t be surprised if he grabs a couple of carrots right out the ground and washes them for you to taste!

After your tour is complete, you can enjoy an intimate table in our courtyard, surrounded by elegant buildings and the idyllic gardens. Our tables are garnished with freshly picked flowers from our garden and each table is spaced out for social distancing to make your experience comfortable and enjoyable.

The menu is based on produce that is at its peak ripeness for harvest. All food is sources from our organic farm as well as neighboring Yolo farms. You’ll enjoy a family-style meal with your choice of classic, vegetarian or both.

HEAR THE SOOTHING SOUNDS OF NATURE

Before or after your meal we invite you to pick a spot to sit and relax, and listen to the trees sway in the breeze. The sound of the countryside is very calming and soothing.

There are tons of spots to sit to enjoy the scenes, smells, and sounds of the countryside, but one of our favorites is in front of our fire feature with the view of the mountains.

At the end of your visit you will have experienced what we like to refer to as “Simple Country Luxury.” There’s no better way to enjoy your visit to Park Winters than by activating all of your five senses. Everyone’s experience is different, but you’ll be sure to take with you the memorable scents and scenes of the western Yolo County countryside.
