Expand your horizons with this exclusive opportunity to view the beautiful bird photography of Manfred Kusch. Manfred will present and narrate a selection of his favorite photos from both our region and from further afield in Costa Rica, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Brazil.
Manfred Kusch retired in 2002 after a 31-year career of teaching French and Comparative Literature at UC Davis. He returned in this new phase of his life to the study and observation of birds, something that had been central to his interests as a child and teenager. He created a locally well-known bird oasis along Putah Creek about a mile downstream from Stevenson Bridge where regional Audubon chapters regularly visit for bird walks. In 2010, he became interested in bird photography and has honed his skills by participating in bird photography workshops in the US and, more extensively, in South America.
